Given the rapid technology advancement so far, and with regard to predictions as to the continuation of the existing trend in the future, one can say the gap will be enlarged in the years to come if no precautions are taken. One way to cope with the challenge is to improve the innovation capacity within the country through increasing research and development activities in all economic sectors countries with more costs spent on research are more developed technologically and industrially. Therefore, the article seeks to explore the role of research and development centers in innovation; the methodology used to achieve this goal was documental analysis. Findings indicate there ought to be appropriate interactions among the main components of "National Innovation System", i.e. government, industry, university and other research institutions; these interactions need to be accomplished through expanding research and development activities and making applicable the finding of research. Therefore, one can conclude there exists a direct relationship between research and innovation and hence the actual development in all countries, especially Iran .So, the obstacles impeding the progress of research and innovation (some of which have been reviewed in this study) should be abolished. يکي از عوامل مهمي که منجر به ايجاد شکاف بين کشورها شده است، تفاوت در توانمندي آن ها در انجام نوآوري مستمر در تمامي ابعاد سياسي، اقتصادي، فرهنگي و اجتماعي مي باشد. با توجه به رشد سريع فنّاوري در دو دهه ی اخير و پيش بيني اين روند در آينده، بي‌شک اگر تمهيدات مناسبي انديشيده نشود، با گذشت زمان بر وسعت اين شکاف افزوده خواهد شد. يکي از راه‌هاي مقابله با اين چالش، افزايش توانمندي نوآوري در كشور از طريق افزايش فعاليت‌هاي تحقيق و توسعه‌ی در بخش‌هاي مختلف اقتصادي مي-باشد. تجارب جهاني نشان مي دهد، کشورهايي که در زمينه تحقيقات، بيشترين هزينه را متحمل شده اند، آنهايي هستند که صاحب فناوري و صنايع پيشرفته اند. از اين رو هدف مقاله ي حاضر، بررسي نقش مراکز در نوآوري و روش تحقیق به کار رفته برای آن، تحلیل استنادی می باشد. یافته های به دست آمده نشان می دهد که براي انجام نوآوري موفق، بايد تعامل مناسبي بين اجزاء اصلي «نظام ملي نوآوري» يعني دولت، صنعت، دانشگاه ها و مؤسسات پژوهشي از طريق گسترش فعاليت‌هاي تحقيق و توسعه و کاربردي کردن نتايج تحقيقات، وجود داشته باشد. بنابراین می توان این گونه نتیجه گیری کرد که بين تحقيقات و نوآوري و در نتيجه ميزان پيشرفت حقيقي در تمامی کشورهای دنیا و به ویژه در کشور ما رابطه مستقيم وجود دارد. در این راستا بايد با اتخاذ سياست‌هاي مناسب، موانع پيش روي پژوهش و نوآوري در کشور (که در این مقاله به برخی از آن ها اشاره شده است) برداشته شود. http://jiu.ir/en/Article/Download/6620
