This research institute is one of the several government research and technology institutes in Iran, which is under the Ministry of Oil and its activities focus on the oil and gas industry. This article is a brief overview of the major achievements of the research institute in the last 42 months that have influenced the development of Iran's oil and gas industry. After a brief introduction of the research institute, some major achievements are presented in 3 sections: "Exploration and Production", "Downstream Industries" and "Energy and Environment". The article then goes on to describe other research activities such as the commercialization of research and development results as well as social responsibilities. The ultimate goal of this paper is to show the impact of investment from public sources on research and development and its impact on the country's oil and gas industry; Which has led to the creation of significant amounts of added value and self-sufficiency of the country in some strategic products. پژوهشگاه صنعت نفت با بیش از 60 سال سابقه، قدیمی‌ترین و بزرگترین موسسه پژوهش و فناوری کاربردی در ایران است. این پژوهشگاه یکی از چندین موسسه پژوهش و فناوری دولتی در ایران است که زیرمجموعه‌ وزارت نفت قرار داشته و فعالیت‌های آن بر صنعت نفت و گاز تمرکز دارد. این نوشتار مرور مختصریست بر دستاوردهای عمده و قابل توجه پژوهشگاه در 42 ماه اخیر که در پیشرفت صنعت نفت و گاز ایران تاثیرگذار بوده‌اند. پس از معرفی مختصر پژوهشگاه، برخی دستاوردهای عمده در 3 بخش "اکتشاف و تولید"، "صنایع پایین دستی" و "انرژی و محیط زیست" ارائه شده اند. سپس مقاله با تشریح سایر اقدامات پژوهشگاه مانند تجاری‌سازی نتایج تحقیق و توسعه و نیز مسئولیت‌های اجتماعی ادامه می‌یابد. هدف نهایی این نوشتار نمایش اثرگذاری سرمایه‌گذاری از محل منابع عمومی برروی تحقیق و توسعه و تاثیر آن بر صنعت نفت و گاز کشور است؛ که منجر به خلق مقادیر قابل توجه ارزش افزوده و نیز خودکفایی کشور در برخی محصولات راهبردی شده است. http://jiu.ir/fa/Article/Download/14666
