Integrating the Metaverse into STEM Education: Meeting Labor Market Demands through Effective Education and Thinking Skills Development

Abstract :
STEM education is considered an educational approach that helps to develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities and integrates scientific knowledge with technical skills in learners. The STEM metaverse is an integrated educational approach that is formed by integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the metaverse world. This approach aims to improve the effectiveness of the learning experience in STEM education and by improving the teaching methods, it makes it more accessible, interactive, and effective. The current study is descriptive-analytical research that uses a systematic literature review method, with a focus on the articles published in the last five years. The results of the survey show that Metaverse can make the educational content more attractive and engage the learners more in the learning experience by focusing on the simulations and interactive communication with the learners. The use of game elements can add to this attraction and deepen the learning of concepts and skills in case of careful design and strengthen thinking skills. STEM Metaverse allows students to operate in virtual environments, understand concepts visually, and practice teamwork skills in a more active and dynamic learning experience. However, in designing a suitable educational framework to achieve effectiveness, it is necessary to pay attention to providing the necessary hardware and software infrastructure with quality, and the disadvantages of this education should also be considered, such as the excessive concentration of learners in the virtual world, in studies Focused on the future.
